Blumery Café was created through the reconstruction of a former post office located at Jiřího z Poděbrad Square, with the aim of transforming the original premises into a fully functioning café with a kitchen and a clearly defined gastronomic experience. Beyond the interior design itself, the initial phase focused on resolving the complete technical infrastructure in close collaboration with engineers and consultants — including ventilation systems, hygiene regulations, toilet capacity, and overall operational logic — to meet all required standards.

Only after this technical foundation was established did a simple concept emerge through discussions with the client, using light as the primary tool for shaping the atmosphere. The custom-made LED tube lighting allows the space to constantly transform: cooler tones in summer visually temper the interior, while warm orange light in winter creates a sense of comfort, gradually shifting in the evening to a more intense red that reflects the bar and experiential bistro’s nighttime operation.

Newly introduced elements respond to both operational requirements and the character of the site — including a raised step beneath the bar inspired by the proportions of the cladding of the neighboring church by Jože Plečnik, as well as textile curtains that improve acoustics while capturing colored light and enhancing the overall lighting effect. The layout of stainless steel banquet tables supports shared dining, brunches, and informal gatherings.

The result is a flexible space that adapts to time, mood, and season, placing the guest experience at the center of the design.
